The Sindh Education Department has issued fresh directives to private schools regarding fee collection practices for the 2026–27 academic session. The move aims to ensure transparency and provide relief to students and parents amid ongoing examinations.
According to officials, the academic year officially commenced on April 1. However, schools have been instructed not to charge tuition fees from matriculation students beyond March 2026. This decision comes as students are currently appearing in their board examinations, making additional fee demands inappropriate during this period.
Additional Director Registration Rafia Javed emphasized that all private institutions must strictly comply with the updated policy. The directive is intended to prevent overcharging and to align school practices with the academic calendar and examination schedules.
Authorities have warned that any violations of these instructions may lead to regulatory action. The department has reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights of students and ensuring that private schools operate within defined rules.
This step reflects ongoing efforts by the government to improve oversight in the education sector, particularly in regulating private institutions. Parents have been encouraged to report any discrepancies or unauthorized fee demands to the relevant authorities.
The latest development is expected to bring clarity and ease financial pressure for families, especially those with children enrolled in matric classes during the examination phase.
