Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trend on Tuesday, marking a sixth consecutive increase as international gold prices recorded another rise.
The latest increase has pushed the price of gold significantly higher in the domestic market, with the per tola rate climbing by nearly Rs. 32,000 in just six days.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of one tola of gold increased by Rs. 2,400 during the latest session, reaching Rs. 459,736.
The latest move extends a strong upward trend that began on August 5. Since then, the per tola price of gold has increased by Rs. 31,800.
The rise in local gold prices follows gains in the international market, where changes in global bullion prices continue to influence rates in Pakistan.
The increase is significant for consumers, investors and jewelers because gold remains one of the most widely followed commodities in the country. Many Pakistanis also consider gold an important store of value during periods of economic uncertainty.
The price of 10-gram gold also moved higher during the latest trading session. According to APGJSA data, the rate increased by Rs. 2,050 to reach Rs. 394,149.
The continued rise could affect demand in the local jewelry market, particularly for buyers planning weddings, family events or other purchases that traditionally involve gold.
Investors are also closely monitoring the recent movement as gold prices can respond to international economic conditions, currency movements, interest rate expectations and geopolitical developments.
The Pakistani gold market generally follows international bullion trends, with local prices also influenced by the exchange rate and other market factors.
The latest six-day increase represents a substantial change for gold buyers. A rise of Rs. 31,800 per tola within such a short period can significantly increase the cost of purchasing jewelry or investment-grade gold.
Market participants will now be watching international bullion prices and domestic market conditions to determine whether the upward trend continues in the coming sessions.
For consumers, the latest rates underline the importance of checking the daily gold price before making a purchase, particularly when prices are moving rapidly.
With gold recording its sixth consecutive daily increase, attention remains focused on whether the precious metal can maintain its momentum and reach new levels in Pakistan’s local market.
