The Sindh government has approved a comprehensive package of reforms aimed at modernizing the province’s vehicle registration, taxation, and insurance system. One of the most significant measures includes the cancellation of registrations for vehicles with unpaid taxes, a move intended to improve tax compliance and strengthen governance in the transport sector.
The reforms were approved during a meeting of the Sindh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. The session brought together provincial ministers, advisers, special assistants, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, Principal Secretary Agha Wasif Abbas, and senior officials from various government departments to review a wide range of policy matters.
Among the key decisions, the provincial government endorsed stricter enforcement mechanisms for vehicle taxation. Authorities believe that linking vehicle registration with tax compliance will encourage owners to clear outstanding dues while improving revenue collection for public services and infrastructure development.
