Pakistan to Launch First Hajj Flight on April 18

Pakistan is set to begin its annual Hajj operation with the first flight scheduled to depart on April 18, according to sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.

The launch will mark the formal start of the country’s large-scale pilgrimage arrangements for Hajj 2026.

119,000 Pilgrims Under Government Scheme

Under the government Hajj scheme, approximately 119,000 Pakistani pilgrims are expected to travel to Saudi Arabia this year.

Officials said that a total of 468 flights will be operated during the Hajj flight operation to transport pilgrims from major cities across the country.

The operation will be conducted in phases, ensuring smooth departure and arrival schedules while coordinating with Saudi authorities for accommodation and transport arrangements.

Coordinated National Operation

The annual Hajj flight operation involves extensive coordination between multiple departments, including aviation authorities, immigration services, health officials, and Saudi counterparts.

Special arrangements are typically made at major airports to facilitate pilgrims, including dedicated counters, vaccination verification, and streamlined boarding procedures.

Preparations in Full Swing

Authorities have reportedly finalized most logistical preparations, including flight scheduling, training of Hajj staff, and distribution of travel documents to selected pilgrims.

Pilgrims traveling under the government scheme are provided with accommodation, transportation within Saudi Arabia, and other essential services as part of the official package.

The Hajj pilgrimage, one of the five pillars of Islam, draws millions of Muslims to Saudi Arabia each year. Pakistan remains one of the largest contributors of pilgrims globally.
