Govt Employees to Receive Early Salaries & Pensions
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced that all government employees and pensioners will receive their salaries and pensions by February 28, 2025, ahead of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak.
According to a notification issued by the KP Finance Department, this early disbursement is aimed at ensuring financial ease for employees as they prepare for the holy month.
Why Salaries Are Being Paid Early?
With March 1 and 2 falling on official holidays, the KP government has decided to advance the salary date so that employees have access to their funds before Ramadan begins.
This step is particularly beneficial for families, as Ramadan brings an increase in expenses related to food, charity, and household necessities.
Ramadan 2025 Moon Sighting & Expected Start Date
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a high chance of moon sighting on March 1, 2025. If confirmed, the first fast (Roza) of Ramadan will be observed on Sunday, March 2.
To officially declare the start of the month, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on February 28 in Peshawar for moon sighting.
Significance of Ramadan & Spiritual Observances
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, a time dedicated to fasting, prayer, and self-discipline. During this sacred month:
- Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, refraining from eating, drinking, and negative behavior.
- Worship and Quranic recitation are emphasized.
- Charitable acts and community service are encouraged.
By ensuring timely salary disbursement, the KP government is helping employees prepare for this spiritual and financially demanding period without inconvenience.
