Karachi Rangers to ensure safety of Muharram gatherings, processions

The Karachi Rangers have announced that they will deploy additional forces and take necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of the Muharram gatherings and processions in the city. Muharram is a sacred month for Muslims, especially for the Shia community, who commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in the Battle of Karbala.

The Rangers spokesperson said that the paramilitary force will coordinate with the police and other law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident during the Muharram activities. He also appealed to the public to cooperate with the security personnel and follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the government to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The spokesperson also urged the people to report any suspicious activity or person to the Rangers helpline 1101 or SMS service 0316-2369996. He said that the Rangers will take swift action against any attempt to disrupt the peace and harmony in the city.
