NADRA Opens First Women-Only Registration Center in South Punjab

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has inaugurated its first-ever Women Registration Center (WRC) in South Punjab, marking a major step toward improving women’s access to national identity and registration services.

Located at Mall of DG Khan, Garden Town, Multan Road, the facility is designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment where women can conveniently avail NADRA’s services — including Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), Family Registration Certificates (FRCs), and Child Registration Certificates (B-Forms) — without hesitation or the challenges often faced in mixed-gender centers.

The launch of the WRC underscores NADRA’s continued commitment to women’s empowerment and inclusivity in the registration process. The center’s establishment aims to bridge accessibility gaps for women in South Punjab, especially those from rural and conservative areas who may face cultural or logistical barriers in visiting regular registration offices.

Officials said that the women-only center is part of a broader initiative to expand citizen registration outreach and ensure that every eligible woman in Pakistan can obtain official identification, a key requirement for accessing social welfare programs, education, healthcare, and financial services.

“NADRA has always been at the forefront of digital and social inclusion,” an official spokesperson said. “This new facility not only provides convenience but also promotes dignity and privacy for women seeking essential documentation.”

The center is equipped with female staff members trained to assist applicants with the entire registration process — from data collection and biometric verification to document issuance — ensuring a smooth and respectful experience.

The initiative is part of NADRA’s ongoing modernization drive, which includes introducing self-service kiosks, mobile registration vans, and the Pak-ID mobile application that allows citizens to apply for CNIC renewals and other services online.

Public response to the women-only center has been overwhelmingly positive, with local residents praising NADRA’s efforts to prioritize accessibility and security for women. Civil society organizations have also lauded the move, calling it a significant milestone in Pakistan’s journey toward digital inclusion and gender equity.

Authorities confirmed that similar Women Registration Centers will soon be opened in other major cities across Punjab and Sindh, expanding the initiative nationwide.
