The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has officially extended the deadline for the submission of agriculture income tax returns until October 31, 2025. The decision comes as a relief for taxpayers across the province, allowing additional time for compliance and ensuring smoother submission processes amid growing digital facilitation.
Previously, the last date for filing agriculture income tax was September 30, 2025. According to an official circular issued by the SRB, the extension was approved by the Government of Sindh to accommodate taxpayers facing procedural challenges and to promote higher levels of tax compliance.
The SRB emphasized that taxpayers can also take advantage of the online payment system for agriculture income tax, a move designed to simplify and modernize the tax filing process. This digital facility enables individuals to pay their dues conveniently without having to visit physical offices, aligning with Sindh’s broader goal of transitioning towards e-governance and transparent revenue management.
Authorities have encouraged taxpayers to make use of the extended timeline responsibly and complete their filings before the new deadline to avoid any potential penalties or enforcement actions. The SRB reiterated that timely payment of taxes is critical for ensuring revenue collection that supports the province’s agricultural development and public sector initiatives.
The agriculture income tax plays a vital role in Sindh’s fiscal framework, serving as an important revenue source that contributes to infrastructure, irrigation, and rural development programs. By extending the filing deadline, the Sindh government aims to promote voluntary compliance while easing the administrative burden on farmers and agribusinesses.
Experts believe that the extension also reflects the government’s proactive approach in balancing fiscal discipline with taxpayer convenience. It is expected that this move will result in an increase in filings through the online portal, enhancing transparency and efficiency in revenue collection.
The Sindh Revenue Board continues to encourage digital adoption and awareness among taxpayers to ensure effective implementation of fiscal reforms. The extension until October 31 provides ample opportunity for individuals and entities to fulfill their tax obligations responsibly while benefiting from the streamlined online services.
