New Spell of Rain and Snowfall Expected Across Pakistan from January 31

A fresh spell of rain and snowfall is expected across Pakistan as the Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a forecast covering the period from January 31 to February 3. The weather system is likely to bring rain to several regions, while upper and mountainous areas may receive snowfall.

According to the forecast, northern Balochistan and the northern parts of the country are expected to experience rain and snowfall during this period. The changing weather pattern is also set to affect multiple regions beyond the northern belt, with rainfall predicted in various parts of the country.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that from January 31 to February 3, rain and snowfall are likely in different areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These regions often experience harsher winter conditions, and the upcoming system may further intensify cold weather in these areas.

From February 1 to February 3, the weather system is expected to extend its impact to Islamabad, the Potohar region, Murree, the Galiyat, and several parts of Punjab. Residents in these areas can expect intermittent rainfall, while higher elevations may witness snowfall, particularly in hill stations and surrounding mountainous terrain.

As a result of this weather spell, a noticeable drop in temperatures is anticipated across affected regions. Cold conditions may intensify, especially during nighttime and early morning hours, making winter conditions more severe in upper areas.

The department has also warned of potential risks associated with the changing weather. Mountainous regions of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir may face an increased risk of landslides due to rain and snowfall. Travelers and residents in these areas have been advised to remain cautious and stay updated with local weather advisories.

This new weather system highlights the ongoing winter pattern across the country, with authorities urging the public to take necessary precautions. Farmers, travelers, and commuters are encouraged to plan accordingly, particularly in regions prone to heavy snowfall and difficult road conditions.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed, while emergency services remain on alert in vulnerable areas during the forecast period.
