Karachi Airport Expands Departure Facilities for Faster Passenger Clearance

Jinnah International Airport has enhanced its departure operations by activating all 20 immigration counters, officials announced on Saturday. The expansion aims to streamline passenger flow and reduce waiting times for travelers during peak periods.

Deputy Director of Immigration Shehzad Akbar highlighted that full staffing at the counters has cut average immigration clearance to nearly one minute per passenger. This improvement ensures a smoother and more efficient experience for travelers departing from Pakistan’s busiest airport.

In addition to fully operational counters, a pre-departure clearance facility has been introduced. This allows passengers to complete immigration formalities days ahead of their flight, helping avoid last-minute delays and stress at the airport.

Airport authorities emphasized that these upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to modernize facilities, enhance operational efficiency, and improve overall passenger satisfaction. The changes are expected to accommodate growing passenger volumes and provide a seamless travel experience for both domestic and international flights.

The expansion of departure facilities underscores Karachi Airport’s commitment to leveraging technology and process improvements to optimize airport operations and support the country’s aviation sector growth.
