In an effort to support Umrah pilgrims, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a reduction in airfares for travelers heading to Saudi Arabia. This move is designed to make the pilgrimage more accessible for Pakistani citizens.
A PIA spokesperson announced that the airline is offering a 15% discount on fares for pilgrims traveling from Toronto to Madina via Lahore. This discounted fare is effective immediately and will remain available until November 15, giving travelers a significant period to benefit from the reduced prices.
This announcement follows PIA’s introduction of a 30% fare reduction last month for flights to various cities in Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh, Dammam, and Al Qassim. The previous discount was highly appreciated by travelers seeking more affordable options for their journeys. Although that offer concluded last month, the current 15% discount provides timely relief for those planning their Umrah pilgrimage.
In addition to the fare reductions, PIA has announced the launch of direct flights from Quetta to Saudi Arabia starting August 6. This new route is anticipated to significantly ease travel for Umrah pilgrims and other passengers from the Balochistan region. The airline will operate two weekly flights between Quetta and Saudi Arabia, addressing the need for direct connectivity.
Previously, passengers from Quetta had to connect through major cities like Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad, often resulting in longer and more cumbersome travel experiences. The new direct flights will simplify the journey, making it more convenient and comfortable for travelers.
The discounted fares and new flight routes reflect PIA’s commitment to enhancing its service offerings and meeting the needs of its passengers. By providing more affordable and convenient travel options, PIA aims to support religious tourism and make the pilgrimage experience smoother for Pakistani citizens.
The latest fare reductions and new routes from PIA are expected to benefit travelers significantly, making it easier and more affordable for them to undertake their spiritual journeys. These initiatives underscore PIA’s dedication to improving its services and catering to the diverse needs of its customers.
