Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the Karachi Development Authority and the Local Government Department to speed up work on two major flyover projects planned for Power House Chowrangi and 4-K Chowrangi in Karachi.
The projects are part of the Sindh government’s broader strategy to reduce growing traffic congestion and improve urban infrastructure in the city. The two flyovers are expected to cost approximately Rs. 4.87 billion and are aimed at easing traffic flow in some of Karachi’s busiest areas.
The development schemes were reviewed during a high-level meeting chaired by the chief minister at the CM House. Officials discussed the progress of ongoing road infrastructure projects and examined measures to improve transportation networks across Karachi.
According to officials, the proposed flyovers at Power House Chowrangi and 4-K Chowrangi are expected to significantly reduce travel time for commuters who regularly face heavy traffic congestion in these areas. The projects are also likely to improve connectivity between different parts of the city and support smoother movement of commercial and public transport vehicles.
Karachi, Pakistan’s largest metropolitan city, continues to experience increasing traffic pressure due to rapid urban expansion, population growth, and rising numbers of vehicles on the roads.
