Sindh Government Launches Pre-Monsoon Livestock Vaccination Drive

The Sindh government has initiated a province-wide vaccination campaign to protect livestock from seasonal diseases ahead of the monsoon season. The program, known as the Pre-Monsoon Vaccination Program 2026–27, aims to prevent outbreaks and safeguard animal health across Sindh.

The campaign was inaugurated on Monday at the Government Veterinary Hospital by Muhammad Ali Malkani, highlighting the government’s commitment to animal welfare and disease prevention. Speaking at the event, the minister emphasized that the program reflects the principle: “prevention is better than cure.”

The initiative will cover cattle, goats, sheep, and other livestock, ensuring they receive timely immunizations against common seasonal diseases. Veterinary teams are being deployed across districts to provide vaccinations and raise awareness among farmers about the importance of preventive care.

By launching the campaign ahead of the monsoon, authorities aim to reduce the risk of disease outbreaks that often occur during periods of high humidity and rainfall. The vaccination drive is expected to enhance livestock productivity, protect farmers’ livelihoods, and strengthen food security in the province.

The Sindh government has also highlighted its plan to monitor vaccination coverage and ensure that rural and underserved areas receive equal access to veterinary services. Educational campaigns will accompany the program to guide farmers on maintaining animal health and hygiene during the monsoon.

This preemptive approach underscores the importance of proactive measures in animal health management and reflects Sindh’s commitment to modernizing veterinary care across the province.
