Gold prices in Pakistan declined sharply on Tuesday, with the domestic market following a downward movement in international gold rates.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold fell by Rs. 4,000 per tola to close at Rs. 449,336.
The latest decline pushed the price of one tola of 24-karat gold below the Rs. 450,000 level, marking a notable move for Pakistan’s bullion market.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also recorded a significant decline during the session. It settled at Rs. 385,233 after falling by Rs. 3,429.
The movement in local gold prices came as international gold prices also experienced a decline. Since Pakistan’s gold market is influenced by global bullion prices, changes in international rates can have a direct impact on domestic prices.
Gold remains one of the most closely followed commodities in Pakistan, particularly among investors, jewelers and households that purchase the precious metal as a store of value.
The latest reduction may attract attention from buyers who have been waiting for a lower entry point in the gold market. However, gold prices can change quickly depending on international market conditions and currency movements.
The Rs. 4,000 decline in the per-tola price represents a notable daily adjustment. At Rs. 449,336, the price remains close to the Rs. 450,000 psychological threshold despite moving below it.
For buyers looking to purchase jewelry, the quoted bullion rate is an important benchmark, although the final retail price of jewelry can be higher because of making charges, design costs and other applicable expenses.
Similarly, investors tracking gold prices generally monitor both domestic rates and international bullion markets to understand the factors behind daily price movements.
The APGJSA rate is widely followed in Pakistan’s gold and jewelry market and provides a key reference point for traders and consumers.
The decline also demonstrates how closely Pakistan’s gold market can respond to developments in global markets. International gold prices are affected by a range of factors, including investor demand, interest-rate expectations, currency movements and broader economic conditions.
For now, the latest figures show a clear retreat from recent elevated levels in Pakistan. The price of 24-karat gold is now Rs. 449,336 per tola, while 10 grams are priced at Rs. 385,233 according to the APGJSA.
Consumers and investors will continue watching the market for further changes, particularly developments in international gold prices that could influence local rates in the coming sessions.
