PSL 10: Quetta Gladiators Edge Out Karachi Kings in a Tense Encounter

Lahore Hosts Another PSL Classic

PSL 10 continued to live up to its reputation for thrilling finishes as Quetta Gladiators beat Karachi Kings by five runs in a heart-stopping clash at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

In pursuit of 143, Karachi fell narrowly short, ending their innings at 137-8.

A Promising Start Undone by Middle-Order Collapse

Karachi’s innings had early drama when Mohammad Amir bowled out David Warner for just four runs.

Recovering quickly, Tim Seifert (47 off 26) and James Vince (30 off 29) pushed the score past 70 before Vince was undone by a clever piece of bowling from Saud Shakeel.

Seifert’s exit, thanks to Mohammad Wasim Jr., exposed the middle order. Shan Masood’s slow knock, combined with quick dismissals of Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Nabi, and Omair Bin Yousuf, turned the tide.

Despite a valiant effort from Hasan Ali, Karachi Kings fell just short.

Key Bowlers for Quetta Step Up

Mohammad Amir, Abrar Ahmed, and Khurram Shahzad picked up two wickets apiece, applying relentless pressure throughout the innings.

Their accurate bowling and smart field placements in the death overs were instrumental in Quetta’s narrow victory.

Gladiators’ Batting: A Roller-Coaster Ride

Batting first, Quetta Gladiators faced stiff challenges early on. Hasan Ali’s double strike and wickets by Abbas Afridi and Mir Hamza had Quetta reeling inside the first six overs.

A vital partnership between Hasan Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf resurrected the innings, with Faheem contributing an aggressive 43.

Despite losing their last few wickets cheaply, the 142 they managed proved just enough on a testing pitch.

With Lahore witnessing another memorable PSL finish, Quetta celebrated a hard-earned win, keeping their playoff hopes alive.
